A new landmark on the Alaska/British Columbia boundary

On September 2015, we erected a new decorative monument on the Alaska/British Columbia border to improve demarcation between Hyder (AK) and Stewart (BC). This new monument provides local authorities with the exact location of the boundary, supporting their border management activities. In the photo, we see Daniel Fortin (left), manager of the Canadian section and JT Moore, Deputy Commissioner of the US Section, shaking hands in front of the new monument 0 of the Southeast Alaska section.
